First Verification Walkthrough

Creating Your First Link

1. Click “Create Verification”

   From your dashboard, click the “Create Verification” button in the top right corner. This opens the verification link wizard.

2. Select Verification Type

   For your first test, we recommend Enhanced verification. This includes:

   • Document capture and authentication
   • Selfie capture and face matching
   • Liveness detection
   Tip

   Your first verification is free regardless of which type you choose!

3. Configure Options (Optional)

   You can customize your link with these options:

   • Reference ID — Your internal identifier for this user
   • Expiration — When the link should expire
   • Redirect URL — Where to send users after completion

   For now, you can leave these at their defaults.

4. Generate the Link

   Click “Create Link”. You'll see your new verification link:

   Click the copy button to copy it to your clipboard, or scan the QR code with your phone.

Completing the Verification

Open the verification link in a new tab or on your mobile device. Here's what the user experience looks like:

1. Welcome Screen

   The user sees a welcome message explaining they'll need to verify their identity. They click “Begin Verification” to start.

2. Document Selection

   Choose the document type: Passport, Driver's License, or National ID. For testing, use any valid government-issued ID you have available.

3. Document Capture

   Position your document within the frame and hold steady. The system automatically detects when the image quality is sufficient and captures the photo.

   For two-sided documents (like driver's licenses), you'll capture both front and back.

4. Selfie Capture

   Switch to the front camera. Position your face within the oval guide, ensuring good lighting and a neutral expression.

5. Liveness Challenge

   You'll be asked to perform 2 random actions from these options:

   • Turn your head left
   • Turn your head right
   • Blink twice
   • Smile

   This proves you're a real person and not a photo or video recording.

6. Processing

   The system processes your submission in real-time. This typically takes 5-15 seconds.

7. Completion

   You'll see a success message confirming the verification is complete. The user can now close the window (or will be redirected if you configured a redirect URL).

Viewing Results

Return to your Owl Eyes dashboard. You'll see the verification in your list with a Verified status.

Click on the verification to see the full results including:

• Verification Score — Overall confidence score (0-100)
• Extracted Data — Name, DOB, document number, etc.
• Check Results — Individual pass/fail for each check
• Document Images — Captured ID photos (masked for privacy)
